One of the missing feature in Microsoft Teams desktop version is the capability to open multiple windows. While you can open a tabulation in another browser page when using the web version, you can't do the same with the desktop version.
Fortunately, Microsoft Teams has added a capability to popup a chat in a separate window.

You can then keep this window open, while the rest of Microsoft Teams is being minimized.

Pretty cool !
I hope Microsoft Teams will generalize this pop out capability to other functions such as channel chat, files, ...
